Maui Vacation Rental Cars

If you would like to explore the island of Maui on your own time, the best way to get around is to rent a car. Car rentals in Maui are available to anyone over 21 years of age with a valid international driving license. If you dont want to be bothered with the driving, you can ask for a driver at an additional expense. There are many rental companies and all of them offer a 24 hours, 7 days a week, pick up and drop off service at some previously appointed locations.

You can choose from a wide range of models and manufacturers. The charges for hiring the car per day depends on the car you choose. The rent for the car drops if you hire them for a week or more. As of November 2005, all BMW sedans cost $49 a day and $39 a day, if you hire them for a week or more. Mustang convertibles cost $45 a day and $35 a day if you hire them for a week or more. Chevy Tahoes come at $79 a day or $499 a week. Jeep Wranglers cost $59 a day or $47 a day if you hire them for more than seven days. The Toyota Landcruiser SUV comes at $69 a day or $59 a day for seven days. The top end cars like the Mercedes 500 SL Roadsters are also available for rent. They cost $199 a day or $1299 for seven days. Compact cars come at $29 a day or $165 a week and Island cars cost $20 a day or $125 a week.

Car rental companies also arrange guided tours to Hana and Haleakala Crater. They charge $79 for adults, $69 for seniors and $59 for children. The tour takes roughly 8 hours and your charge includes transportation (Bus, Van, SUV, etc), an expert tour guide and lunch.
