A number of years ago we created a graphic logo based on the phrase Dream Bigger! We produced buttons and t-shirts. Ive signed letters and emails with this phrase. It is more than a short inspirational phrase. It embodies a truth for all of us as individuals and carries extra importance for us as a leader. Dream Bigger! In order for an individual to reach their potential, they must have some sense, vision or dream of where they want to go. And most all of us fall far short of creating dreams that are impossible. More likely is the person setting their sights too low. As a leader we can help people see their potential. We can help them believe in their dreams. And we can provide support, resources, encouragement and wise counsel to help them expand on those dreams as they see success. We can truly help them . . . Dream Bigger! When we dream bigger as leaders we create a powerfully motivating energy that can lead an organization, a department or a team forward with amazing speed. We create new more powerful expectations for those around us and ourselves when we . . . Dream Bigger! And while we are leaders, providing guidance and vision to others, it is important that we remember the lesson ourselves. Dream about greater joy. Dream about higher heights. Dream about results greater than you have imagined. We need to invest in ourselves as we invest in others. This means investing in the knowledge, skills, awareness and ideas to help us reach those ever bigger dreams. So you see, it is more than two words, it is an opportunity, an imperative, a philosophy.
